Himavanta is a design studio led by Cheryl Lim and Jocelyn Arnold. Our roots are in Bangkok, and we operate internationally with a network of collaborators in the design and construction industry.

Cheryl is a Singaporean designer and ARB registered architect. Her career features numerous competition wins at prestigious firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects. Her academic contributions include leading workshops at her alma mater, the Architectural Association.

Jocelyn is British/Thai designer and ARB registered architect. His expertise in project delivery has been honed at internationally renowned firms such as Bjarke Ingels Group, Farshid Moussavi Architecture, and Amanda Levete Architects.

Our design methodology is simple: we target something special, and thoughtfully iterate to achieve it for our clients, on time and on budget. Curiosity fuels project ideation, while our practical mindset drives project execution.

Our brand is the way we fuse the contemporary and vernacular. On the one hand, we are sensitive to the traditional use of materials, forms, and patterns. On the other, we believe design should be progressive to meet the ever evolving needs of our world.

And for those wondering, our name is inspired by a forest in Thai legend, inhabited by creatures fused from different animals. This resonates with us, whose creative process and output are strengthened by our mixed backgrounds and diverse experiences.

Our bread and butter is architectural design. Our founders have over 15 years of combined experience in conceptual and technical project delivery. These projects span the residential, hospitality, commercial, and cultural sectors, in over 10 countries.

In tandem, we design interiors, products, and furniture, which we view as intimately linked to architecture. While catering to manufacturers and distributors, we have our own experience in designing, producing, and selling products directly to consumers.

Finally, as gamers ourselves, we are passionate about concept art and 3D environmental design for video games and the metaverse. We consult with video game studios to enhance signature assets, spatial coherence, and environmental storytelling.
